Willoughby Chess Challenge 2012

51 players took part in the inaugural Willoughby Chess Challenge held on Sunday 30th September at Willoughby Public School. A close competition saw the lead see-saw and went up to the last round, with Srichakra Motamarri losing his lead in the last round, seeing Alysha Chin and Mitchell Trott overtake him to share first place (Alysha first on tie-break). A very competitive field saw lots of unrated and new players challenging and beater several established, high-rated players, creating an exciting and nervy scramble for the prizes.

Thanks to chief arbiter Nick and to assistant arbiter Poyraz for a smoothly run event.
