10 students attended the first Burwood Fun Chess Day held on the pupil-free day, Tuesday 28th January. Coach Joost ran a round-robin tournament where all players could use their skills. In between the games, there were lessons to improve openings, tactics and endgames. At the end of the day, all players joined in a fun transfers competition, which is a team geam with four players on two boards.
The top scorers of the regular chess competition (full results attached below) were:
1st Place - Linus Cooper 8.5/9
2nd Place - Peter Boylan 8/9
3rd Place - Kalaish Stanley 7/9
