The Inner West Chess Challenge 9 was another big event with 225 participants. The tournament was held on Tuesday 27th September, 2011. Top seed Morgan Chang took first prize (trophy + $200 coaching voucher) over Brandon Lee on tiebreak. Both players scored an outstanding 7.5 points out of 8 games. 2nd place - 5th place won trophies and also scored a $25 new Youthsaver account, sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank (Burwood branch). We were also able to give out lots of platypus money banks and other lucky-dip prizes! Thank you to all our arbiters who helped on the day, and to Matthew, our chess joker, who did a great job entertaining the players and audience before each round.
