Format:
This is an intensive 2-day chess clinic with Grandmaster Max Illingworth and International Masters Stanislav Smetankin and Andro Wagdy for elite players competing in the upcoming Australian Junior Chess Championships in Brisbane, starting on 18 January, 2020. The children will study a variety of advanced topics including openings from a well known theoretician, middlegame plans, strategies and endgame techniques. This will be an opportunity to sharpen tactical skills to prepare for the Championships. The clinic will include practice using chess notation and clocks in warm-up games against the other players. There will be a few breaks during the day, so each child is encouraged to bring along some food and drink.
